Do I need to rewire my home?
Usually not. Most of what we install in existing homes is wireless: smart switches fit behind your current ones and sensors run on batteries for years. For renovations and new builds we recommend a wired backbone and work with your electrician and architect.
What happens if the internet goes down?
NIX Hub runs everything locally, so lights, climate, locks, alarm and automations keep working. Only remote access from outside the house pauses. With Starlink failover, even that stays up.
Where are my camera recordings stored?
On storage inside your home. Nothing goes to a third-party cloud unless you ask for it, and there is no monthly fee for recordings.
Can I use Google, Alexa or Siri?
Yes. The hub exposes your devices and scenes to the voice assistant you prefer, and the whole family can use the app on iPhone and Android.
Can I keep the devices I already have?
Often, yes. Many existing A/C units, TVs, speakers and smart plugs can be added to the hub. We check compatibility during the survey.
Who keeps it updated?
We do. NIX Hub is built on Home Assistant, which releases updates regularly. We test them before they reach your home.
