In this policy we refer to it as “NIX Online”, “we” or “us”.
2.How the website works
This is a static website hosted on our own server with Hetzner Online GmbH, in a data centre within the European Union (Germany or Finland), running Nginx.
Fonts, scripts and 3D graphics libraries are all served from that same server. In practice, this means your browser does not contact any third party while you browse our pages. In particular, we do not use:
- Google Fonts or any external content delivery network (CDN),
- third-party tracking or analytics tools,
- advertising or ad networks,
- social media pixels or plugins.
3.Cookies and local storage
This website sets no cookies at all, neither our own nor third-party ones. That is why you will not see a cookie consent banner.
The only thing stored on your device is your display preference (light or dark theme), kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage) under the key nix-theme. This value stays on your device, is never sent to us and contains no personal data. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.
4.Visitor statistics
When enabled, we use GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly statistics tool hosted on our own server. GoatCounter uses no cookies, does not store IP addresses and does not build visitor profiles.
It records aggregate counts only: which page was viewed, the referring website, browser type, screen size and country. None of this can be used to identify you.
5.Server logs
Like any web server, Nginx records technical details of each request: the IP address, the time and the page requested. We keep these logs solely for the security and proper operation of the website, for example to detect attacks, and they are deleted automatically after 14 days at most.
6.Forms and requests
When you fill in one of our forms (survey request, support request, cost configurator or readiness quiz), we collect the details you give us:
- name, phone number and email address,
- the area where the property is located,
- your message,
- the options and answers you selected.
We use them to reply to you, arrange the survey and prepare an offer or, for support requests, to resolve the issue and follow it up.
Your request is sent to us by email and a backup copy is kept on our server. After submitting, you receive an automatic confirmation email at the address you provided.
7.Legal basis
- Survey, cost estimate and quote requests: processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
- Support requests and their follow-up: our legitimate interest in properly serving the people who contact us (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) and, for existing customers, the performance of the contract.
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Filling in the forms is optional. Without your contact details, however, we cannot reply to you.
8.Retention
- Requests that do not lead to a contract are deleted 24 months after submission.
- Customer data is kept for the duration of our working relationship and then for as long as tax and other legal obligations require.
- Server logs are deleted after 14 days at most.
9.Recipients
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. Access to it is limited to:
- the company’s email provider, through which requests are delivered,
- our hosting provider, Hetzner Online GmbH, on whose server the website runs,
- sister companies within Innovation Labs Group, only when needed for the work you requested (for example a Starlink installation) and always with your knowledge.
Providers act as processors on our behalf and under our instructions. Data may also be disclosed to public authorities where the law requires it.
10.Transfers outside the EU
The website and the backup copies of requests are hosted within the European Union. If the company’s email provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so only with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission.
11.Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- access the data we hold about you,
- rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data,
- erasure, where there is no lawful reason to keep it,
- restriction of processing,
- portability, meaning receiving your data in a structured, commonly used format,
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at [to be completed]. We will reply without undue delay and within one month at the latest. We may ask for information to confirm your identity, so that data is not disclosed to the wrong person.
12.Complaints
If you believe that the processing of your data breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, Kifisias 1-3, 115 23 Athens, www.dpa.gr. We would, however, appreciate the chance to resolve the matter with you first.
13.Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the way the website works or the law changes. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
